New Year writing tip

Each day take 5 minutes out of your day to write. But I don't know what to write about. But I haven't got time. But I never get anything finished. But I can't do a poem in 5 minutes. But ... Do any of these arguements for not getting on with writing sound familiar? If so, or you have a list of your own, decide to get on with creative writing anyway. Your daily 5 minutes of writing doesn't need to make sense, create a best seller or be a finished piece. It's about getting going and seeing where you go from there. You might write for 5 days about how difficult it is to get on with writing and all the excuses you have for not doing it. You might use it to write random words on a sheet. You might not make much sense. You might, however, find that from several weeks writing, you discover the beginnings of a short story, poem or article and can take it from there. Why not get started and see how it goes?
