yeah I agree with some of what others have said. Maybe the hardest writing is what gets to us the most - cos it matters. Still, I admire anyone who has the spirit to try and persevere.

Hi Shirley, It is dificult to write about your own problems, sometimes painful. If you do, make sure that you are taking care of yourself and not pushing yourself too hard. As a result you may realise that you are actually a strong person to face all the challenges. I wish you well. I am posting this address on the site, but it may be of interest to you www.dacymru.com - if you live in Wales you can enjoy free membership for 1 year. You can look at the site in anycase.

Envision a world with you as its center looking outward, while turning inward only to use your senses as hunter/gatherers, whose sole job it is to provide food for your conscious, your observer self. My inspirations often come from concentrated observation. Ask yourself,"What about my world, as I interact with it, yields the most interesting/meaningful information to me?" What you do with that information, and how you organize it, can be your story; it can be used to form the vignette of 'you' - the free formed contents of your moment. Your body may be disabled, but your essence of self is only handicapped by the breadth of your imagination. The Mind beats its matter every time. Your quest for freedom of thought reminds me of a rose in wind - I'll write what comes to me right now:
I'll call it "Shirley as a Rose"; here goes:
=========================
Roses rise from crinkled buds
their branches beyond trees;
Their ruby red runs eyes to head
their fragrance speaks to bees;
Running fingers though their curves
do caterpillars sneeze ?
Soft petals wind imaginations
gazing, floating free...
===================
I hope this promotes your prose.

Hi Shirley,
Yes, Jackie is right, this is a tough project. Perhaps posting this message in the forum is a good start Shirley. I would also suggest that you just write. Get your thoughts down on paper first and then at a later date maybe submitting what you have to this website could be useful. Sorry I could not be of more help.
Paul.

hello shirley. I think this can be quite hard because it is about writing about yourself so I say well fdone for giving this a go. I have tried to write about myself in this way and find it hard. If I think about the title you have given yourself then I would say you need to start with some kind of introduction about why it is you are writing this in the first place. Then I would go on to write about any difficulties you have and why that is - or why you think it is. I don't know of any magazines for disabled people to write stories poems and so on bu t I think a lot of disability charities and so on have newsletters and magazines which can be useful and you can send writing ot them to put in their magazines.
