This is great
I've just been on my first tour of the site, made some comments on people's writing in the publications area and thought there was some really cool writing. Thought this topic bit could be about general stuff like what we think of the site, each others work and that sort of stuff. Really ace.

I've just had my first go at putting a poem in to the site. I find it quite scary because I suppose you might think your own stuff is ok but you really don't have any idea what anyone else will think - it could be rubbish! Anyway I do just enjoy writing for the sake of it and sort of look forward to getting feedback as I know that friends and family can just do that sort of - hey great - stuff where you dont really know what they think!

Yeah I go with you Paul. No complaints about this site at all. It is FANTASTIC. It is so brill to get feedback from the DW team - freely given and very useful.
Also the feedback from other writers is great

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly with Jon and Em, this site is really good. I joined three sites at the start of this year, but this site is the only one with which I shall continue. The other two were always trying to sell me stuff I do not want and accepted any old tat I chose to offer them, while this site appears to be focused on the writer and their work and not if they can make money from them. They are tough, realistic and enthusiastic. I have no complaints: yet! There is also a range of varying ability here, but no one is left feeling inferior or superior and this is so important and allows for equal status between us all. It is so easy to crush budding talent with careless words and I trust this site to act with consideration.

I agree with what you've said here. Haven't visited as much as I'd like recently but it's great to keep coming back and seeing what is going on with the site. I'm really enjoying reading the published poems and stories too and seeing how different writers approach the work.
