Hello, a forum to meet new members.
I'm new to the site and I'd like to converse with others. I notice some forums have been blank for a while.

Following on from what Stig said, I try not to listen too much to what published writers (or writers who think they've got the handle on it all) say - they can be a bit like ex-smokers. Bit holier than thou! Find your own way, I say - do what feels right, push yourself as much as is right for you. Do it your way and it will probably work out best for you than if you try to do it someone else's way. Of course, a bit of good advice and feedback is always very welcome when it is constructive.

I think one of the problems is time for a lot of people - I've got a half finished cliche story which I want to review but I just seem to run out of day.

I was at a writing class a few months ago and one of the published writers there said if you can't find time to write you don't want to write - it actually quite upset me at the time and I didn't go back... I have a whole wad of papers with ideas and really want to try my hand at a sitcom but working full time and family means I don't get a lot of that precious thinking/writing time. I even have a copy of final draft to load on my computer and haven't even had time to do that! Maybe it's a block? Perhaps I am scared of failing? I like to think of it as 'fixing to get ready'. Needless to say when I find a few minutes to review my cliche story I will post it up for your comments :0)

The site is still really quite new - it will be like a snowball - at the moment it's a little snowball - give it a while and there will be a whole avalanche :0)

Hi both! Wouldn't it be interesting to see how many are connected with this site - maybe the powers that run it could suggest a booklet with our writing attempts - would that be a good idea? As you say Mick, maybe next year! But it seems such a shame, it seems to need insentive! Maybe a competition. Or am I just waffling?

Hi Sheila,

i'm a new member and am pretty confused about how few the postings are on this site. I just know that there are loads of disabled writers out there that have been crying out for a forum like this, so the poor reponse is quite baffling. Perhaps time will tell, maybe this time next year will prove us all wrong.
